Aloe Vera, the sacred plant revered and used for its medicinal properties in ancient times, appears in Egyptian Hieroglyphic texts as the plant of immortality. In his book “Of Medical Matter”, written in the year 75 B.C., the Greek physician Dioscorides describes the usefulness of Aloe for wounds, skin diseases, hair loss, herpes, ulcers, and hemorrhoids. The Roman naturalist, Plinio, recommends Aloe for headaches, buccal hemorrhages, etc.
The word “Alloeh” is Arabic and means “Brilliant bitter substance”. The Hebrew word is “Ahaloth”, which in the Bible appears in several of the Psalms of Salomon and in the Gospel of Saint John 19:39-40.
Since 1930 the plant as been scientifically analyzed and tested with excellent results by both United States and Russia.
